Abstract

Irvine, CA. – May 03, 2007 – Ergo Sum is pleased to announce they have signed a licensing contract with “Maggie” award winning abstract artist, Robert Suzuki for their second quarter offerings that will debut at the annual Surtex Selling and Licensing Art & Design Show in New York City this month.

Robert Suzuki is a self-taught artist who started with oils and currently paints in acrylics on canvas. His formal training in commercial art and design was honed at the Los Angeles Art Center of School of Design.

Life experiences of living in an internment camp as a young boy and later being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease has been difficult to weather, but it has never diminished Robert Suzuki’s passion to express himself visually. Daily medication allows Robert to experience intermittent freedom of movement. Through it all he continues to paint, keeping him active in his compelling desire to create.

“I have always had an interest in art for as long as I can remember, I have an incredible creative appetite. Painting gives me a way to express myself visually and provides a sense of purpose. It is as if I take a meditative journey through the unknown to find my way through difficult situations.” said artist, Robert Suzuki

The debut offering will feature a bold collection of abstracts called “Life Forms,” and unconscious visual impression of how Bob Suzuki has interpreted his illness.

Daniel Tacconelli, Vice President of Ergo Sum stated, “Robert Suzuki is an immensely talented artist. Within his art there is no disability, only the ability to paint with an unbridled fluid free form movement that captures his spirit and captivates his audience. His imagery is rich in color and texture and allows you to see the intimate nuances of each brush stroke. We are proud to represent Robert, and aid in the efforts against Parkinson’s Disease and help fund research.”

Through art, we can all help find a cure. Ergo Sum has committed to donate a portion of the profits of Robert Suzuki’s current and future collections to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. A Foundation dedicated to ensuring the development of a cure for Parkinson's disease through aggressively funded research.
