Ergo Sum kicks off the 2004 International Licensing show by donating a
signature piece to the FDNY Fire Zone learning center.
Ergo Sum donates signed Fireman image to New York City’s FDNY Fire
Zone
Irvine, CA. - June 7, 2004 - Ergo Sum is pleased to announce they
will donate a signed hand numbered piece from their debut Fireman series
from award winning artist, John Sweeney to the FDNY Fire Zone learning
center in New York City. The official presentation will take place at the 2004
International Licensing show at Jacob K. Javits Center, New York City
on Tuesday, June 8th at the FDNY Fire Zone Booth #3361 at 8:45am.
FDNY Fire Zone helps educate and empower the public by exposing them to
the power of fire and means for prevention.
“Looking at my youth, my inspirations were firemen. As I’ve grown so
has my admiration for the amazing jobs the brave fireman do on a daily basis.
My series is a small appreciation for these true American hero’s – for
those who are here, and for those we remember” stated artist, John Sweeney.
Ergo Sum has pledged to donate a percentage of sales from their heroic
Fireman series to the FDNY Fire Safety Education Fund. In conjunction
with the FDNY’s efforts to support various projects and programs including:
- The Fire Zone fire safety learning center, which offers classes and
demonstrations in fire safety for children and families
- The Fire Department’s school and community outreach programs, through
which fire safety materials were handed-out to over half a million students
last year
- Fire safety public awareness campaigns, including a recent campaign
regarding candle safety, which helped lead to a significant drop in the
number of deaths caused by candle-related fires
- Fire Department programs to give away smoke detectors and batteries to
people and families that cannot afford them
- The Family Assistance Program, which distributes funds and provides
assistance to the families of fallen firefighters
